Seller policies
The standards that keep VedikCraft genuine and trustworthy for buyers — and fair for every artisan who lists with us.
These policies set out what we expect from suppliers. They protect the authenticity buyers come here for, and they protect honest artisans from being undercut by imitations. For the full legal agreement, see the seller terms.
Authenticity & GI integrity
- Every piece must be genuine, handmade Indian handicraft, accurately described.
- Any Geographical Indication (GI) association must be true. GI and provenance auto-fill from your craft — don't misrepresent your craft or region to claim a status that isn't yours.
- Misrepresenting authenticity or origin is grounds for immediate suspension. See our authenticity & GI promise.
One craft per seller
Each supplier account is locked to a single craft category and region. This keeps expertise genuine and provenance trustworthy. If you practise more than one distinct craft, talk to us first.
Product quality & accurate listings
- Listings must be accurate — clear photos, true materials, dimensions, region and dispatch times.
- The piece a customer receives must match what was listed.
- Keep stock and availability current to avoid cancellations.
- You enter only your own price; retail pricing, GI codes and HS codes are handled by VedikCraft.
Prohibited items
- Mass-produced, counterfeit or imported imitation goods
- Items that infringe another's intellectual property or GI rights
- Anything unlawful, unsafe or restricted under Indian law
- Goods made using protected wildlife or prohibited materials
Packaging & dispatch expectations
- Dispatch orders within the handling time stated on your listings.
- Pack pieces securely, following our packaging guidance — handmade goods deserve careful handling.
- We handle shipping reach and customs paperwork; you ensure the piece is ready and well-protected for transit.
Account approval & suspension
Sellers are approved before going live, and we may decline an application at our discretion. We may suspend or terminate an account for breaches — inauthentic listings, repeated fulfilment failures, prohibited items, or conduct that harms buyers or other makers. You may close your account at any time; pending obligations (delivering accepted orders and receiving owed payouts) continue to apply.
