About Thanjavur Art Plate

The Thanjavur art plate layers embossed silver and copper deities over a brass base, a courtly craft refined under the Maratha rulers of Thanjavur. Each plate is a devotional tableau, often depicting Lakshmi, Krishna or temple gopurams.
