About Ajrakh Block Print

Ajrakh is a deeply geometric resist-print in indigo and madder, demanding up to sixteen stages of printing, dyeing and washing on both sides of the cloth. Practised by the Khatri community for generations, its star and trellis patterns echo Islamic geometry.
