About Chamba Rumal

The Chamba Rumal is an embroidered coverlet worked in a 'do-rukha' double-satin stitch that looks identical on both sides, often called 'needle painting'. Its miniature-style scenes of Krishna's raas-leela once accompanied Pahari weddings as gifts of honour.

Are VedikCraft's Chamba Rumal pieces hand-painted or prints?
Every Chamba Rumal piece is genuinely handmade by a named artisan — one of a kind, never a print or machine copy.
Is this Chamba Rumal authentic and GI-certified?
Yes. Chamba Rumal is a GI-protected craft (registered as “Chamba Rumal”). Every order ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and a QR code to verify its maker, region and GI status.
What does an authentic Chamba Rumal piece cost?
Handmade Chamba Rumal typically ranges from ₹1,500 to ₹80,000, depending on size, detail and the artisan.
How do I care for a Chamba Rumal piece?
Keep Chamba Rumal out of prolonged direct sunlight and damp, and dust it gently. Because each piece is handmade from natural materials, slight variations are part of its character.
