Brass Peacock and Bird Showpieces (Mor, Hans, Ullu)
bird showpiece · mor · hans · batakh · ullu · bird figurines
About these pieces
All the birds in the shop are collected here: peacocks, ducks and swans, owls, eagles and parrots. 76 are pure brass, 11 are aluminium and 1 is copper. Many of the peacocks and ducks come as matched pairs.
Start with the bird, because each sits differently in a room. Peacocks are tall and upright and suit a console or an entrance. Ducks and swans are low and long and look right on a coffee table or beside an urli. Owls and eagles are compact desk pieces. Then check the footprint and the weight on the listing, which runs from about 240 g to 8 kg. Aluminium pairs are noticeably lighter than brass ones of the same height, which helps if the piece will sit on a glass shelf.
Pairs are cast to face each other. Place them a little apart and turned slightly inward, the way they are shown in the listing photo.
