About this piece

This aluminium tilak dani is 2.5 inches high and polished in Moradabad. It holds the tilak and roli for a puja and fits a small puja tray. The compact shape keeps the items together.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each use and keep it dry. Avoid scouring pads on the aluminium. It is a neat gift for a puja room or a new home.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
