About this piece

This small brass tope with lid is 5 inches high and weighs 1,100 grams. Made in Moradabad from pure brass and polished, it is a compact pot for a single serving. The rounded body is light to handle.

Wash with mild soap and dry fully. Kalai on the inside wears over time; have it re-coated when it thins. It is a useful gift for a small kitchen.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
