About this piece
This wall hanging peacock is 5 inches high and weighs 1,200 grams. The relief is polished and made in Moradabad, and it is fixed to a plate that hangs flat on the wall. A peacock is a symbol of grace, so the piece suits a living room, a bedroom, or a corridor.
Wipe with a dry cloth and avoid moisture around the wall fixing. Clean the feather detail with a soft brush. It makes a bright gift for a housewarming.
The craft
Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.
Sand cast, hand engraved, lacquer finished.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
Care, shipping and returns
Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.
