About this piece

This Radha Krishna idol stands 11 inches high and weighs 2,300 grams. The pure brass is polished, and the figures are made by hand in Moradabad. It sits well on a pooja room altar and suits daily puja or a festive setup for Janmashtami.

Wipe with a soft cloth and dust the base regularly. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, rinse, and dry at once. It is a loving gift for a wedding or a new home.

The craft

Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.
