About this piece

This Ram Darbar idol is pure brass and polished in Moradabad. Its group is finished with fine detail for a temple entrance or a large hall. The figures are shaped with clean lines.

Keep the idol dry and dust with a soft cloth. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse and dry fully. It is a grand gift for a temple or Ram Navami.

The craft

Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

Sand cast, hand engraved, lacquer finished.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.

Arrived damaged or not as described? Send a photo on WhatsApp or email within 48 hours of delivery and we send a replacement at our cost. International orders cannot be cancelled or returned once shipped. Full international terms.

Good to know

All Idols and Murtis
Which size idol suits a home mandir?
3 to 5 inch for a shelf mandir, 6 to 10 inch for a pooja room, 12 inch and up for a temple or entrance. Height is on every listing; allow 6 inches of clear space around a large idol.
Is this idol solid brass?
Yes, sand cast in our Moradabad workshop, polished and lacquered. The weight in grams on the listing is the honest measure; thin sheet idols weigh half as much.
How do I clean a brass idol?
Lacquered idols: a soft dry cloth. Raw brass: lemon and salt or tamarind pulp, rinse, dry at once. No steel wool, no acid soak beyond ten minutes.
Can I use it for daily puja and for festivals?
Yes. Brass idols are permanent; they are bathed, dressed and worshipped year after year and are not immersed.
Is gift packing available?
Yes, every idol ships in a rigid box with a card slot, dispatched within two working days, COD across India.
Can a 25.5 kg Ram Darbar go in a home?

At 25.5 kg it needs a floor or a platform built to carry the full weight, so a temple or a large hall suits it better than a home shelf. Plan the placement and the delivery route first.

Is it practical to move this piece?

At 25.5 kg it should be moved only with help and a trolley, so choose its place before it arrives. Once placed, it can stay put for a long time.
