About this collection
This page holds 33 horse statues and showpieces from ₹1,055, from 4 to 20.5 inch tall. Twenty-six are pure brass and 7 are aluminium. Weights run from 200 g to 7.36 kg and the costliest horse is ₹18,880.
Pick the pose first. A running horse has the body stretched low and long, so it needs shelf length more than height; there is one at 8.5 inch. A jumping or rearing horse stands on its hind legs and is tall and narrow, here at 14.5 and 20.5 inch, and suits a corner table or an entrance. Standing horses of 7.5 to 10 inch are the easy choice for a centre table. Then pick the metal. Brass is heavier and has a yellow shine; a 15 inch brass horse here is 6.24 kg. Aluminium horses, such as the 6.5 and 10 inch ones, are much lighter and cost less for the same height, and they are finished to look like metal sculpture, not like gold. Most pieces here are single horses.
Many families keep a running horse in the office or living room, as it is traditionally seen as a sign of energy and progress, and vastu followers often ask for seven horses. Treat that as belief, and choose the piece you like looking at. A rearing horse balances on two hooves and a tail, so keep it on a level, firm surface.
