About this piece

This brass hanging temple bell, or ghanti, is 10.5 inches high and weighs 6,160 grams. Made in Moradabad from pure brass and polished, it hangs at a temple entrance or a large home mandir. The bell has a deep, clear ring when struck.

Wipe with a dry cloth after each use and keep the bell dry. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse. It is a grand gift for a temple or a wedding.

The craft

Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

Sand cast, hand engraved, lacquer finished.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.

Good to know

All Puja
Is this made for daily puja use?
Yes. Every piece is cast in Moradabad from solid brass for the mandir, not sheet-metal décor; weight is listed so you can judge the casting.
How do I keep it clean?
Rinse after use, dry at once, and polish monthly with lemon and salt or Pitambari. Lacquered pieces need only a dry cloth.
Can brass be used for abhishek and water offerings?
Yes. Brass, copper and bronze are the traditional puja metals; steel and aluminium are not used for abhishek in most households.
Do you ship before festivals?
Dispatch is within two working days; order 7 to 10 days before a festival for safe delivery anywhere in India.
Is bulk pricing available for temples?
Yes, slab pricing from 10 pieces with a GST invoice. Message us on WhatsApp with the quantity.
Can it hang from a home door?

At 6.16 kg it needs a strong fixing in a solid frame, not a light hook.

Is 10.5 inch right for a temple?

At 10.5 inch it suits a temple or a large entrance.
