About this piece

Slightly lighter than the large bell, this hanging ghanti is cast in pure brass and polished by hand. It stands 3 inches high and weighs 100 grams. Made in Moradabad, it gives a clear note when the chain is tapped at the temple door.

Wipe it with a dry cloth once a week and keep it out of damp corners. Lemon and salt bring back the shine when it dulls. Good for a small home mandir or as a light, practical gift.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
