About this piece

This brass hand bell, or ghanti, is 5.5 inches high and weighs 180 grams. Made in Moradabad from pure brass and polished, it is held in the hand for the aarti. The handle is finished neatly.

Wipe with a dry cloth after each use and keep it dry. Lemon and salt clear tarnish quickly. It is a fitting gift for a puja room or a new home.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
