About this piece

This brass hanging temple bell, or ghanti, is 25 inches tall and weighs 1,800 grams. Made in Moradabad from pure brass and polished, it hangs at a temple entrance or a large hall. The bell gives a clear ring.

Wipe with a dry cloth after each use and keep the bell dry. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse. It is a fitting gift for a temple or a wedding.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.
