Frequently asked questions
Is this real brass or brass plated?
Solid brass, cast from ingots in Moradabad. We do not sell plated steel or zinc alloy. Every listing shows the weight so you can judge for yourself: a 12 inch solid brass urli weighs close to 2 kg; a plated one weighs half that.
Will it tarnish?
Our pieces are lacquer finished, which seals the surface so it stays bright with just a dry wipe. Raw, unlacquered pieces are marked on the listing and will develop a patina over time, which many people prefer.
How do I clean it?
Lacquered brass: wipe with a soft dry cloth. No detergents, no Pitambari, no lemon. Raw brass: a paste of lemon and salt, rinsed and dried immediately, brings back the shine.
Is it safe to cook or eat from?
Serveware marked food safe is tin lined or lacquered on the food surface. Decorative urlis, planters and lamps are not meant for food. The listing says which.
Where does it ship from?
From the craft hub itself. Brass ships from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Dispatch within 2 working days, delivery in 4 to 7 days across India.
Do you offer cash on delivery?
Yes, across India, with no extra fee. UPI and cards are accepted too.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 7 days of delivery. Damaged or not as described: full refund, pickup on us. Changed your mind: full refund minus ₹99 pickup. See the returns page.
Is the GI tag real?
Moradabad Metal Craft holds a Geographical Indication registration. It means the craft is recognised as belonging to that place. We show the GI seal only on hubs whose craft carries a registration.
Do you do bulk or corporate orders?
Yes. Slab pricing from 10 units, logo engraving on brass, custom packing and GST invoices. Start on the wholesale page or message us on WhatsApp.
Can I visit the workshop?
