Under ₹2,000 you are choosing between three kinds of piece. First, vessels that hold something: brass flower pots of 7 and 7.5 inch, a handwork vase, and an 8 inch urli bowl for floating flowers at the entrance. Second, table showpieces: a 3.5 inch brass cat, a small brass tortoise of 10 g, and aluminium animal figures such as a 3.2 inch rhino. The brass and aluminium split matters here. Brass is heavier and can be polished back to a shine for years. Aluminium showpieces are lighter and cost less, and they carry a painted or plated finish that should only be wiped with a dry cloth.
