About this piece
This brass kettle, a ketli design, is 5 inches high and weighs 630 grams. It is pure brass, polished and made in Moradabad, and suits boiling water or tea at a family kitchen. The spout and handle are shaped for daily use.
Wash with mild soap and dry fully after each use. The kalai lining on cookware wears over time; get it re-coated by a kalai-wala when it thins. It is a useful gift for a new kitchen.
The craft
Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.
Sand cast, hand engraved, lacquer finished.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
Care, shipping and returns
Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.
Arrived damaged or not as described? Send a photo on WhatsApp or email within 48 hours of delivery and we send a replacement at our cost. International orders cannot be cancelled or returned once shipped. Full international terms.
