About this piece
This brass pooja bell, or ghanti, with a face design, is 10.5 inches high and weighs 1,580 grams. It is pure brass, polished and made in Moradabad, and rings clearly at a puja. The face is finished with clean detail.
Wipe with a dry cloth after each use and keep the bell dry. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse. It is a fitting gift for a puja room or a temple.
The craft
Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
