About this piece
This Ganesh ji idol weighs 19,180 grams and is pure brass. It is polished and made in Moradabad, and sized for a temple entrance or a community puja. The trunk and crown are finished with fine detail.
Keep the idol dry and dust with a soft cloth. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse and dry fully. It is a grand gift for Ganesh Chaturthi or a temple.

Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
