About this piece

This hand bell, or ghanti, is 6.2 inches high and weighs 150 grams. Polished and made in Moradabad, it is light for a daily aarti.

Wipe the bell with a dry cloth after use and keep it dry. Avoid soaking it in water. It is a light gift for a puja room. It also suits a child's first puja.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

How do I keep it clean?
Rinse after use, dry at once, and polish monthly with lemon and salt or Pitambari. Lacquered pieces need only a dry cloth.
