About this piece

This Radha Krishna idol is 12.2 inches high and weighs 6,700 grams. Cast from pure brass and polished in Moradabad, it suits a pooja room altar. The two figures are finished together on one base.

Keep the idol dry and dust with a soft cloth. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse and dry fully. It is a loving gift for a wedding or Janmashtami.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
