About this piece

This copper pooja thali is 2 inches high and weighs 660 grams. It is polished and made in Moradabad from copper, and holds diya, roli, and rice for a puja. The copper is finished evenly.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each puja and keep it dry. Avoid harsh scouring on the copper. It is a fitting gift for a home mandir.

The craft

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
