About this piece

This Shiv Parivar idol is pure brass and polished in Moradabad. It is sized for a temple or a large home mandir, and the family group is finished in one piece.

Keep the idol dry and dust with a soft cloth. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse and dry fully. It is a fitting gift for Shravan or a temple.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
