About this piece

This brass pooja thali is 0.5 inch high and weighs 300 grams. Made from pure brass in Moradabad and polished, it has a shallow tray for diya and roli. It suits a daily puja.

Dry it after each puja and wipe with a soft cloth. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse. It is a light gift for a puja corner.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
