Peacock and Hanging Lamps Above ₹5,000
About this collection
Figure lamps in this band are the finest brass oil lamps in the range: peacock, bird and deepak shapes, and large hanging lamps. They are chosen as a centrepiece for a living room, a temple hall or a Diwali display, where the lamp is seen as much as the light it gives.
Heavier brass figure lamps need careful cleaning, since oil and soot settle into the detail. Brush the figure after each lighting, dry the cup and stem with a cloth, and keep the lamp on a level surface. For a hanging lamp, check the chain and hook before lighting.
Good to know
Is a large figure lamp right for a temple hall?
Yes. At this size it is the centre of an altar and needs a level table or floor.
Which lamp suits a Diwali display?
A large peacock or figure lamp makes a strong centrepiece, lit on a table with space around it.
How is the detail kept clean?
Brush the carving while the lamp is warm, then dry the cup and stem. Polish only the dull spots.
