The 8 inch size is a middle choice: larger than the 5 to 6 inch mandir idols, smaller than a 9 or 10 inch statue. It suits a pooja room shelf or a main-hall table.
Brass pieces here range from under 2 to over 3 kg. Aluminium ones are lighter. Look at the weight to know how steady the piece will stand on your shelf.
Clean with a dry cloth and avoid water on the base of the idol. Rub a little lemon on brass if the surface dulls.
