About this piece
This brass wall hanging of the yali door face is 7 inches high and weighs 840 grams. It is polished and made in Moradabad, with the yali relief carved in fine detail. Hang it on a pooja room door or a hallway wall as a guard piece.
Dust gently with a dry cloth and keep it dry on the wall. Clean the relief with a soft brush and use lemon and salt only on plain areas. It suits a home entrance or a gift for a housewarming.
The craft
Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.
Sand cast, hand engraved, lacquer finished.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
Care, shipping and returns
Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.
