Brass Parvati, Annapurna and Devi Idols (Mata ki Murti)
Parvati ji · Annapurna Devi · Gauri · Tara Devi · Baglamukhi · devi murti
About these pieces
This category gathers the forms of the Devi other than Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati: Parvati, Annapurna, Tara, Baglamukhi and more. There are 38 idols from ₹155, in heights from about 1.5 inch to 31 inch. 37 are pure brass and 1 is aluminium.
Each form has its own place. Annapurna, holding a ladle and a pot, is traditionally kept in the kitchen or beside the grain store, and small 3 inch pieces fit a kitchen shelf. Parvati is often bought to sit with a Shivling or to complete a Shiv Parivar. Tara and Baglamukhi are usually chosen by devotees who already follow that form. Pick the size by the spot: the 2 to 3 inch idols are listed for a desk or a car, around 7 inch for a home mandir, and 8.5 inch and above for a pooja room. Weights run from about 40 g to 7.88 kg. Half the range is priced under ₹2,825.
Kitchen air carries oil. An Annapurna kept near the stove should be wiped every few days with a dry cloth, or the film dulls the brass.
