About this piece

This set of three brass bowls comes packed in a velvet box and weighs 1,550 grams in total. Made from pure brass in Moradabad and polished, each bowl suits a serving of dal, kheer, or prasad. The nested set takes little space on a kitchen shelf.

Wash with mild soap and dry fully before storing. Lemon and salt clear tarnish from the rim. It is a practical gift for a wedding or a new home.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Yes with kalai (tin lining) on cookware, which our kadhais and handis carry. Avoid cooking tomato, tamarind or lemon in uncoated brass. Glasses and thalis are safe for water and dry food.

Lemon and salt or Pitambari after use, rinse and dry. Dishwashers and bleach pit the metal.
