About this piece

This pooja thali is 1.5 inches high and weighs 200 grams. It is polished and made in Moradabad, and holds diya, roli, and rice for a daily puja. The round shape is easy to carry.

Dry it after each puja and wipe with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking it in water. It is a fitting gift for a home mandir.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
