About this piece

This aluminium supari bowl is polished and made in Moradabad. It holds betel nuts or small snacks at a table. The bowl is light and simple to clean.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use and keep it dry. Avoid scouring pads on aluminium. It is a useful gift for a host. It also suits a tray for guests at home.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
