About this piece

This Ganesh ji idol is 6 inches high and weighs 1,900 grams. Made from pure brass with a stone and colour-work finish, it suits a home mandir. The trunk and crown are finished with clean detail.

Dust with a soft cloth and keep the idol dry. Avoid harsh cleaners on the stone and colour work. It is a good gift for Ganesh Chaturthi or a new home.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Is this idol solid brass?

Yes, sand cast in our Moradabad workshop, polished and lacquered. The weight in grams on the listing is the honest measure; thin sheet idols weigh half as much.
