About this piece

This copper hawan kund, a small fire pit for pooja, is 4.7 inches high and weighs 1,960 grams. It is copper and polished, and suits a puja corner. The kund is finished with clean detail.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Yes. Every piece is cast in Moradabad from solid brass for the mandir, not sheet-metal décor; weight is listed so you can judge the casting.
How do I keep it clean?
Rinse after use, dry at once, and polish monthly with lemon and salt or Pitambari. Lacquered pieces need only a dry cloth.
Can brass be used for abhishek and water offerings?
