This is the shelf of odd, interesting things: hookahs, sand timers, compasses, telescopes, bullock carts, ashtrays and other vintage-style pieces. Most are brass (121), 26 are wood or brass with wood, and a few are aluminium, copper, silver plated or iron. Sizes run from under an inch to about 26 inch, and weights from 40 g to nearly 10 kg.
Curios work in small groups. Pick one tall piece, such as a hookah of 14 or 21 inch, and two or three low ones around it on a console or a bookshelf. Check the size on the listing carefully, because photos make a 1.3 inch ashtray and a 6 inch cart look alike. For a desk, a sand timer or a compass is useful and small. For a gift, something with a moving part, such as a telescope, tends to be remembered.
These are new pieces made in Moradabad in antique styles and finishes. They are not old antiques. A dark antique finish is meant to stay dark, so dust it with a dry cloth and do not polish it bright.
