About this piece

This aluminium Laddu Gopal double jhula idol is 10.2 inches high and weighs 800 grams. It is polished and made in Moradabad, and sits on a jhula for a pooja room. The frame is finished neatly.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth and keep the idol away from water. Aluminium scratches easily, so avoid harsh cleaners. It is a sweet gift for a family that keeps Laddu Gopal at home.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
