About this piece
This brass pooja thali is 0.5 inch high and weighs 600 grams. It is pure brass, polished and made in Moradabad, with a shallow tray for a daily puja. The round shape is easy to carry during aarti.
Dry it after each puja and wipe with a soft cloth. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse. It is a fitting gift for a home mandir.
The craft
Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
Care, shipping and returns
Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
