About this piece
This bowl is silver plated, with a gold-and-silver finish, and weighs 150 grams. It is made in Moradabad and polished, and holds a small serving at a festive table. The finish is bright and even.
Wash with mild soap and dry at once. Avoid harsh scouring on the surface. It is a festive gift for Diwali. It also suits a family celebration.
The craft
Moradabad. Cast, hammered and lacquered by hand, for three hundred years.

How it is made
Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.
Care, shipping and returns
Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
