About this piece

This brass figurine of a sitting child with an umbrella is 20 inches high and weighs 17,000 grams. It is pure brass, polished and made in Moradabad, and suits a hall or a living room. The umbrella is finished with fine detail.

Dust with a soft cloth and keep it on a steady base. Clean tarnish with lemon and salt, then rinse fully. It is a graceful gift for a new home.

The craft

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Care, shipping and returns

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.

Dispatch in 1 to 3 working days from India by tracked courier. Shipping is charged by parcel weight and shown at checkout. Import duties and taxes, if any, are collected by the courier on delivery.

Good to know

All Home Décor

Is it solid or hollow?

Cast brass, solid unless the listing says sheet or hollow. The weight in grams tells you; a 6 inch cast figure is usually 400 g or more.

Does brass need polishing?

Lacquered pieces stay bright with a dry cloth. Raw and antique-finish pieces develop a patina; polish with lemon and salt only if you want the shine back.

Which direction for vastu pieces?

Tortoise in the north or north east, elephant pair facing inward at the entrance, swan pair in the south west bedroom, Kamdhenu in the north east. Details are in the vastu guides.

Can it be gifted?

Yes, it ships in a rigid gift box within two working days, with a message card on request.

Will the colour match the photo?

Hand finishing varies slightly from piece to piece and photos are taken in daylight; expect small differences in shade, never in shape or size.

Can 17 kg sit on a console?

No, at 17 kg it needs a strong floor base, not a console.

Where does a 20 inch figurine suit?

A large hall or entrance with floor space suits this figure.
