About this piece

This smaller brass chowki stands 2 inches high and weighs 1,110 grams. It is a pure brass bajot, polished and made in Moradabad, sized for a small idol or a set of puja items. The compact shape fits a home altar without crowding it.

Keep it dry and wipe after each use. Lemon and salt lift tarnish quickly; rinse and dry well. It suits a small puja corner or a gift for a child starting daily puja.

How it is made

Brass is melted and poured into sand moulds, cooled, then turned on a lathe to true the shape. Engravers cut the pattern by hand with a hammer and chisel. The piece is polished on a buffing wheel and sealed with a clear lacquer so it stays bright without weekly cleaning.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from detergents and damp. Handmade pieces vary slightly in finish, that is the point.
