Shiva Idols, Shivling and Nandi, 4 to 8 inch
About this collection
Shiv Ji idols, shivlings and Shiv Parivar figures from four to eight inch are the pieces most families place on a home mandir shelf. At this size the detail reads well from across the room, and the figure is light enough to lift for cleaning.
Brass is the usual metal here, with a few aluminium pieces. Dust the carving with a soft brush and wipe the flat base with a dry cloth. Set the figure on a level shelf, and keep the shrine clear of damp and direct sun. A soft cloth is enough for most dust.

Good to know
Which size suits a home mandir?
A figure of 4 to 8 inch sits on a mandir shelf and leaves room for the diyas in front.
Is a shivling placed on its own?
A shivling sits on its own base, so a flat, steady spot is all it needs.
How often should the carving be dusted?
A soft brush each week keeps the detail clear, and a dry cloth over the figure finishes the job.
