This page holds 156 antique style décor pieces from ₹125, from thumb-sized curios to pieces 49 inch tall. One thing first: antique here means the design and the finish, not the age. These are new pieces made in Moradabad in old patterns, and nothing on this page is sold as an old or collectible antique.
The mix is 121 in pure brass, 26 with wood, 4 in aluminium, 2 silver plated, 2 in copper and one in iron. The designs are the kind you would find in an old haveli or a ship captain's cabin: a 6 inch cow cart, a brass ship on a wooden base at 9.5 inch, a 15.5 inch cannon, a 4.5 inch camel shaped lock, a 7.5 inch taraazu weighing scale, a 5.5 inch ship clock, a chess set in silver and black, a kajal dani and an ashtray of 120 g. Half the page costs ₹2,415 or less and the largest pieces reach ₹60,310. Weights run from 20 g to 36 kg.
Care is different from polished brass. If a piece has a dark antique finish, do not use lemon, salt or brass polish on it, because that strips the dark tone and leaves bright patches. Dust it with a dry soft cloth and nothing else. These pieces suit a study, a bookshelf, a bar counter or a hotel and cafe interior, and the smaller curios are easy gifts for someone who collects old style objects.
